Application: Re-examination for a subject already passed
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY AND ENSURE THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THE CONTENTS THEREOF:
The following is applicable when applying to write a re-examination for a module already passed:
- a student may apply to write a re-examination for a module that they have already passed, after the first sitting of the examination for a particular module, i.e. the first examination after completing the module;
- the purpose of this procedure is to afford students the opportunity to better their mark;
- students must submit their applications no later than seven calendar days before the examination period;
- students will write the re-examination applied for during the next examination session for which the examination in question is scheduled; and
- a student will be informed electronically as to the outcome of their examination re-mark application.
The result achieved in the re-examination will be considered as the student’s final mark even if that result is less than the mark achieved in the first examination.
Should a student not sit the re-examination applied for, without officially cancelling the examination as per the normal procedure for postponing an examination, the student will be awarded a mark of zero for the examination. This will then be considered a student’s final result for the module in question.
