Belgium Campus iTversity shines at the 2025 SAPHE Excellence Awards

Belgium Campus iTversity received several distinctions at the 2025 South African Private Higher Education (SAPHE) Excellence Awards.

The SAPHE Excellence Awards, hosted by the South African Private Higher Education association, recognise outstanding contributions to the country’s private higher education sector. Established to celebrate excellence and innovation, the awards honour individuals and institutions demonstrating best practice in teaching, research, and community engagement. The 2025 event brought together representatives from leading private higher education institutions across the country.

At this year’s ceremony, Belgium Campus iTversity achieved notable success across several key categories.

  • Francois Venter won the SAPHE Excellence Award for Research and Innovation, acknowledging his work in advancing impactful research with technological and social relevance.
  • Prof Japie Greeff was named First Runner-Up for the Research Excellence Award, highlighting his contribution to applied innovation and academic scholarship.
  • Jacqui Muller was recognised as First Runner-Up for the Community Engagement Excellence Award, acknowledging her work in building partnerships that strengthen local communities through education and technology.
