Duties:
- Comprehensive knowledge of the scientific area of Software Engineering with a strong focus on software architecture, (cyber) security, requirements engineering, model-based software development, software metrics and software testing.
- In depth understanding and knowledge of all aspects of the design, development, delivery and maintenance of complex applications, includes an in-depth knowledge.

- A good understanding of sound engineering principles in order to develop software that is reliable and works efficiently

Duties:
- Installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure;
- Monitoring and correcting environment for faults, failures and capacity;
- Interfacing with management and lecturers;

Sign Language Interpreter (SASL)

PURPOSE:
Belgium Campus, a tertiary education institution, is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sign Language Interpreter to provide professional South African Sign Language (SASL) interpreting for staff, students and visitors – and work related to this access for signing Deaf people.
This position is specifically geared towards providing interpreting for Deaf staff members and Belgium Campus events, but may include interpreting for Deaf students, advocacy work, and co-ordination.
Duties:
- Contribute to the development of South African Sign Language from an academic and technical perspective
- Continually evaluate the teaching done at Belgium Campus in the context of Deaf education within the ICT field
- Advancing Deaf education, especially within the tertiary sector
- Ensure our Deaf students receive the best education possible
- Manage interpreters – includes evaluation, training, and scheduling
- Co-ordinate the development and maintenance of technical vocabulary
- Co-ordinate the development of summary videos for each subject
- Interpret and/or teach classes when necessary
- Creation and moderation of videos for assessments

Furthermore, that as key participants in the available support services for the students studying at Belgium campus, the candidate accounts for the wellbeing of both the students’ academic progress .Ensuring that they prevent, promote, intervene and refer when appropriate to do so, as a means to adequately assist the student during the fulfilment of their academic studies.
Duties:
The aim of the duties and responsibilities detailed below are intended to provide a general overview of what entails the core duties that are directly linked to the professional aspect of the role. Furthermore, the general duties that highlight the additional measures that the candidate is required to fulfil.
Student support refers to tutoring, mentoring, guidance and counselling to maximise academic performance and attending to students’ academic, and psychological needs – that may impinge on the students’ academic development. The education faculty, academic lecturers and the student support department are partners in the above-mentioned endeavours.
Act as an advisor and a consultant to students on issues related to their academic development and develop and manage intervention programmes with associated intervention programmes and processes made available by the institution.
Assist students with equity and welfare issues that may be affecting their ability to study. Contacting the responsible person who for the students’ fees if the student is reluctant to get assistance for this at-risk academic behaviour. Organize on-campus activities including one-on-one with students
