Students Living With Disabilities

Belgium Campus iTversity is a socially inclusive University representing a full demographic spectrum of South Africa.  We are fully committed to providing equal opportunities for high quality tertiary education to all potential students, including those living with disabilities.

As an active B-BBEE contributor, BC focuses on the disadvantaged populations specifically into the Science Technology Engineering and Mathematical (STEM) programmes, particularly for students with disabilities and other subpopulations. We strive to create a supportive environment for students who are partially sighted, deaf, and with mobility disabilities, in helping them realise their educational and employment goals.

Class Accessibility and Support

All our campuses can, in various ways, accommodate students with mobility issues. Our Kempton Park campus is equipped with a wheel-chair friendly elevator and our Nelson Mandela Bay campus with a staircase lift.

We provide a customised academic curriculum and have full time employed Sign Language interpreters for our Deaf students throughout their studies. In addition, our classes for our Deaf students are limited to a maximum of 10 students to ensure each student receives dedicated attention, and our half-moon seating arrangement is optimal for students who are learning through sign language.
