Minimum requirements: A National Senior Certificate certified by Umalusi or an equivalent foreign qualification converted by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Programme-Specific Requirements
Diploma in Information Technology
- A National Senior Certificate endorsed for a Diploma.
Diploma for Deaf Students
- A National Senior Certificate endorsed for a Diploma.
- 50% or more for the Belgium Campus iTversity Aptitude Test.
- An audiogram of no older than 6 months.
Part-Time Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)
- NSC endorsed for Degree studies
- 50% or higher in English
- 50% or higher in pure Mathematics (or pass Mathematics Bridging Course with 50%)
Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)
- NSC endorsed for Degree studies
- 50% or higher in English
- 50% or higher in pure Mathematics (or pass Mathematics Bridging Course with 50%)
Bachelor of Computing (BComp) – Software Engineering or Data Science
- NSC endorsed for Degree studies
- 50% or higher in English

Advanced Diploma in Cybersecurity
To be considered for admission into the Advanced Diploma in Cybersecurity, applicants must hold a relevant NQF Level 6 qualification in the field of Information Technology. This includes:
- A 360-credit Diploma, or
- A 240-credit Diploma together with completed work-integrated learning, or a combination of work-integrated learning and coursework equivalent to 120 credits, or
- A Bachelor’s degree in the Information Technology field.
Postgraduate Diploma in Cybersecurity Risk Management
To be considered for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Cybersecurity Risk Management, applicants must have successfully completed:
- A 360-credit or 480-credit Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field; or
- An Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Information Technology or a related field, including the Advanced Diploma in Cybersecurity.
A minimum overall average of 60% is required for admission.
Master in Information Technology
Applicants must hold an NQF Level 8 qualification in Information Technology or a related field such as a:
- Bachelor Honours Degree, or
- 480‑credit Bachelor’s Degree, or
- Postgraduate Diploma.
In addition, applicants must have:
- A minimum overall weighted average of 65%; and
- A completed research component of at least 30 credits.
Applicants who do not meet these requirements may apply through Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

What are the admission requirements for IT courses at Belgium Campus iTversity?
You need a National Senior Certificate with the correct endorsement (diploma or degree), plus minimum 50% in English and Mathematics (requirements vary by programme).
Do I need pure Mathematics to study IT?
Yes. However, if you don’t meet the Maths requirement, you can attend our Mathematics Bridging Course and gain entry upon successful completion.
Do you accept international students?
Yes. International applicants must have their qualifications evaluated by SAQA and meet English requirements.
Can I apply if I am a mature student?
Yes. Belgium Campus iTversity welcomes students of all ages.
When should I apply?
We have multiple intake dates for undergraduate qualifications. The intake dates are January, May, July and September. The projected intake dates for postgraduate qualifications is August.
