Grade 11 and 12 learners got the chance to explore different careers and enter to win a R20 000 bursary at the Raceview Motors Career Expo.

Students attended a career expo hosted by Raceview Motor Group on April 18, aimed at helping Grade 11 and 12 learners plan their future.

The event brought together a variety of institutions offering courses in IT, cooking, beauty, agriculture and other fields. It gave learners a chance to ask questions and learn about different career paths in one place.

Elmari Potgieter, the marketing manager of Raceview Motor Group, said the expo was created to give learners more options, especially those who may not go to university.

Alicia Meyer from Belgium Campus ITversity said the expo is a good starting point for learners who are still unsure about their future.

A QR code appears near the bottom right of the display. Cars are visible in the background, suggesting the photo was taken at an indoor event or exhibition.

One learner, Chloe Vergottin from Alberton High School, said the event helped her better understand her options. “It made it easier to think about what I want to do after school,” she said.

Learners who attended also entered a competition to win a R20 000 bursary. To qualify, they had to be in Grade 11 or 12 and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The winner will be chosen through a lucky draw, and the learner must pass their grade well to receive the bursary.
